Beneath the steel case beats the Cal. 1565 or later Cal. 1575, both chronometer-rated automatic movements running at 19,800 vph with instant-change date mechanisms. The 1675 underwent numerous evolutions during its production run, from gilt dials and small GMT hands in the early years to matte dials and larger hands by the 1970s. The reference appeared with various bezel inserts, including the iconic blue-and-red 'Pepsi', the all-blue, and the black variants. These dial and bezel variations now form distinct collecting categories, each with devoted followings.

By the time production concluded in 1980, the 1675 had become the most produced GMT-Master reference, yet individual examples remain highly sought.
